Ouch! Gayle King getting dragged for bringing up Kobe Bryant’s past rape case in interview, “I am mortified. I am embarrassed, I am very angry”
After receiving much praise for her stellar R. Kelly interview that went viral, Gayle King is now getting blasted for taking Kobe Bryant’s past sexual assault case to task during an interview with WNBA legend Lisa Leslie.
Celebrities like Rickey Smiley, Snoop Dogg, Ari Lennox and Lil Boosie have slammed the CBS This Morning anchor for drudging up Bryant’s 2003 sexual assault case given that he hasn’t even been laid to rest yet. Many viewed King’s line of questioning as insensitive and out-of-line. Other people have questioned why she hasn’t gone in on Harvey Weinstein and his numerous sexual assault charges.
Said Snoop: “Gayle King, you out of pocket for that sh*t, way out of pocket,” Snoop said. “What do you gain from that? I swear to God, we the worst. We the f**king worst. We expect more from you Gayle. Don’t you hang out with Oprah? Why y’all attacking us? We your people! You ain’t come after f**king Harvey Weinstein asking them dumb a** questions.”
Media: “Calvin Broadus Jr., aka ‘Snoop Doggy Dogg’ posts profanity laden threatening tirade on CBS Morning News Host Gayle King for her interview w/ Lisa Leslie pressing her on the 2004 sexual assault case vs the late Kobe Bryant”

Radio DJ Rickey Smiley aired his dismay over the interview saying, “Kobe Bryant and his daughter haven’t been laid to rest! All these years why didn’t you ask or interview Kobe when he was living!! How disrespectful and disgusting!!! I don’t know what you and Oprah Winfrey are on, but it’s disturbing!! This interview with Lisa Leslie was inappropriate! Lisa was Kobe Bryant’s friend who is grieving, and you dragged her into your sh*t!!! FOH!!!!!”
King has responded to the backlash saying the clip about Bryant’s past was just a small snapshot of a wide-ranging interview.

King definitely took a jab at CBS. Seems like this relationship might be on the outs pretty soon.
